Safety

Tools, rules and processes to protect the community

GenGle provides rules, tools and processes to make the community as safe as possible. However, no platform can absolutely guarantee user behaviour, especially in interactions outside the Platform or during events organised by users themselves.

If you are in immediate danger

If you, your child or another person are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number (112 in the EU, 911 in the US, etc.) or the relevant authorities right away. Reports to GenGle are important, but do not replace intervention by the authorities in cases of emergency, threats, violence, stalking, abuse, grooming, risk to minors or other serious facts.

Our principles

Zero tolerance

On serious risks and predatory or manipulative behaviours, especially towards minors.

Respect and clear boundaries

The community is a relational space, not a place to vent at others.

Privacy by default

Share only what is needed, when it is needed.

Responsibility at events

Each participant remains responsible for their own decisions and for supervising the minors they bring.

Safety tools

Report

Every post, comment, message, profile or event can be reported in seconds.

Block

Limits interactions with a user who makes you uncomfortable. No need to explain or negotiate.

Active moderation

People and processes that review reports based on severity.

Reliability / Karma

Indicators of participation and correct behaviour that value those who participate well.

What happens when you report

When we receive a report, we may:

analyse the reported content

verify the profile or activity of the user involved

review related messages, posts, comments, events or behaviours

ask for further information, if needed

remove content

limit some features

suspend or close an account

prevent participation in events

report the case to the relevant authorities, in the most serious cases or where required by law

Measures depend on severity, context, any repetition and risk to users or minors.

Reports are prioritised by severity. Cases involving minors, threats, stalking, violence, scams or immediate risk receive the highest priority.

Confidentiality

Reports are handled confidentially. Where possible, GenGle avoids revealing the identity of the reporting person. In some cases, however, absolute anonymity may not be guaranteed, for example when necessary to handle the case, comply with legal obligations or protect the rights of third parties.

Block and report

Blocking limits interactions with a user who makes you uncomfortable. Depending on available features, it may prevent or reduce messages, profile views, comment interactions or other direct contact. Blocking does not replace reporting: if the behaviour is serious, dangerous, unlawful or involves minors, always also report it to GenGle.

What is NOT tolerated

Threats, violence, stalking, serious harassment

Grooming, predation, sexual or ambiguous content involving minors

Scams, money requests, extortion or manipulation attempts

Aggressive spam, unauthorised promotions or contact harvesting

Unlawful, discriminatory, violent or seriously harmful content

Behaviours that may lead to warnings or limitations

Aggressive tone, provocations or personal attacks

Repeated flaming or toxic discussions

Misuse of groups or events

Repeated late cancellations

Failure to follow the organiser's instructions

Off-topic content or content contrary to the spirit of the community

Abusive or retaliatory use of reports

Protection of minors

The safety of minors is the absolute priority. We do not tolerate:

sexual, ambiguous, suggestive or inappropriate content referring to minors

attempts at improper contact with minors

grooming or manipulation

unauthorised publication of photos, names, schools, addresses, routines or other identifying information

mockery, exposure or exploitation of minors' image

Private conversations, screenshots and personal data

Conversations within GenGle are private. It is not allowed to disclose, publish or share externally screenshots, recordings, messages, images or information obtained on the Platform, except with the consent of the persons involved or as required by law. Violating this rule may lead to content removal, feature limitations, account suspension or closure.

Safety at events

GenGle events are real-life meet-ups and require responsibility from everyone. Before attending:

read the description, location, time, costs and rules carefully

only attend if you are registered or confirmed

do not bring guests who are not declared or allowed

follow the organiser's instructions

do not share event details on external groups or platforms unless authorised

if something makes you uncomfortable, leave and report

Events are organised by users or third parties, unless otherwise stated. Each participant remains responsible for their own decisions and for supervising the minors they bring.

External guests

External guests are allowed only within the limits set by the Platform and the Community Rules. The user who invites a guest is responsible for informing them about GenGle's rules and for their conduct during the event. It is not allowed to use guests to bypass community rules, to let already registered users participate without proper registration, or to involve people previously removed from GenGle.

Reliability and Karma

GenGle may use reliability indicators, such as event participation, late cancellations, no-shows, founded reports or other behaviours relevant to community quality. These indicators may affect the visibility of some information, access to certain features or participation in some events, as set out in the Terms and Privacy Policy. The goal is not to "punish", but to protect the community and value those who participate properly.

Reporting responsibly

Reports exist to protect the community. It is forbidden to use reports in an instrumental, false, defamatory, retaliatory way or to harm other users. Abuse of reporting tools may lead to limitations or measures on the account.

Official channels

For safety, privacy or misconduct issues, first use the reporting tools available on the Platform. For privacy requests you can write to:

privacy@gengle.it

Official social channels are not the priority channel to handle urgent reports or sensitive cases.
